The ultimate grilled cheese sandwich
A quick and easy meal or snack, perfect for using up any cheese you have in the fridge. We used American cheese slices, cheddar and quick-pickled pink onions, but it would work well with all sorts of ingredients, so get creative with what you have!
- Sourdough bread
- Cheese of your choice
- Pink pickled onions
- Butter soft enough to spread
- Heat a frying pan or griddle to a medium heat, not too hot as you want the cheese to melt without the bread burning
- Thoroughly butter one side of each slice of sourdough and layer with cheese and other fillings.
- Place butter side down in the pan for 2-3 minute and carefully flip over and repeat on the other side for 2-3 minutes until you can see the cheese is melted and oozing out the side. Serve with Kent crisps and your Watts salad of choice.
